Southwest Dispatch Center operates the largest shared IntelliNet mesh network in the United States.
What is AES IntelliNet 2.0?
AES is a mesh network that consist of IP Links (or nodes) and AES units. The nodes and AES units communicate with each other to provide another communication option to battle the end of life for POTS and 3G/4G/CDMA cell units. The strength of our network is the combination of both the IP Links (nodes) and the number of AES units on that network. How many do we have? I’m glad you asked. We have 68 IP Nodes on our network and 32 on the DFW network alone. Think of an IP Link as base antennas installed throughout the area to increase coverage in the network. We have over 32 of those spread throughout the DFW area.
